Summary |
Maestro sees eight very different celebrities in a uniquely intense musical competition in which they attempt to master the art of conducting. At stake: the chance to conduct a world class orchestra, live, in one of the country's most prestigious televised concerts. Maestro makes classical music accessible to a prime-time audience in a hugely entertaining way. The celebrities have no conducting experience - just a willingness to learn, a passion to improve and the steely nerve needed to perform. They embark on an incredible musical and personal journey guided by a professional mentor, beginning at 'baton camp' where they wrestle with the basics before moving on to studio shows that see them having to master orchestral, choral and operatic music. Each week one celebrity is eliminated until just two remain. Final performances and millions of viewer votes then decide who will be crowned the Maestro |
