Summary *Coarse Language*We Won't Drop The Baby follows Laurence, Adele (who both have cerebral palsy) and their son Tom in this one hour observational film that lays bare the joys and hurdles of disabled parenting.Six years ago when Adele and Laurence Clark had a baby boy, Tom, they were criticised by doctors for being irresponsible. Laurence is wheelchair-bound and Adele is heavily dependent on her crutches. But now Adele is pregnant again. And this time Adele is determined to have a natural birth. A brave decision considering Laurence's cerebral palsy was caused by his own difficult birth and Adele's cerebral palsy affects her from the waist down. The film follows Adele as she goes in for her first scan through to the first two months after having the baby. From the couple's reluctance to screen their baby for genetic abnormalities to Laurence's messy attempts at changing that first stinky nappy - it's not easy when your arms have a tendency to have a mind of their own. There'll be revealing insights from every member of this extraordinary family. From Adele's disarming honesty and Laurence's razor-sharp wit to Tom's cutely precocious take on life with his 'wobbly' mum and dad. The arrival of a newborn baby is bound to have an unexpected impact on this unique family's dynamic. We also follow Laurence to Edinburgh, just four weeks after Adele gives birth, as he performs his comedy routine at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It'll be an exciting and challenging time for the Clark's as they make the journey up north, complete with their newborn baby. Will Laurence be able to balance family life with his passion for comedy?PRODUCTION DETAILS:An IWC Media Production for BBC
