Estelle Morris meets ; 3
Summary Tim Brighouse talks to Estelle Morris about his 45-year career in education, which has included a stint as Birmingham's Chief Education Officer, and a current position as chief adviser to London schools. He describes what he thinks are the problems facing urban teachers, and how they can be overcome. We also hear Tim's opinions on the changing role of the local education authority, as someone who has experienced the change first hand. Estelle asks if LEAs have been left with enough power to encourage change and progress in the wider community, and what needs to change in order to tackle the poor perception of the performance of London schools
