The Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) invited tenders for the broadcasting rights of Indian cricket match for four years. BCCI consequently entered into negotiations with Zee Films and ESPN before awarding the contract to Zee Films. ESPN promptly took BCCI to court leading BCCI to cancel the tender process claiming that they had not signed an official contract with Zee Films. Zee Films on the other disagreed arguing that BCCI had concluded the contract
