Summary |
Born out of the free love movement of the 1960s, David Berg's Children Of God group is the most notorious sex cult in American history. For decades, children were molested and physically abused under the guise of 'sharing' God's love. Berg's most controversial teachings were Flirty Fishing and the Law of Love, which justified everything from paedophilia to religious prostitution, as long as it was done with love. Now, years later, survivors of this horrific cult are facing an epidemic of suicides by fellow ex-members still wrestling with their traumatic childhoods. Amy Bril, former child bride of David Berg, recounts her experiences growing up in the Children Of God, and shares the loss of her best friend |
