Summary |
The four Romanov daughters of Tzar Nicholas II and Alexandra: Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia will forever be viewed through the circumstances of their tragic deaths in a brutal and botched murder in a basement in Ekaterinburg in 1918. This story would go on to fuel countless conspiracy theories about the possible survival of Anastasia, prompt huge amounts of sentimental fiction to be sold in USA and a create a growing cult in the Russian Orthodox Church. Part travelogue, part detective story, author and historian Helen Rappaport will travel from the UK to Russia and to the USA. Using groundbreaking research, she will draw on a range of previously unseen archival material and documents in private collections and uncover a largely untapped range of sources.
