Summary |
When a griffin comes to the town to view his likeness carved above the church doorway, the cowardly and selfish townspeople force the Minor Canon, a good and kindly man, to face the the griffin and to attempt to induce him to leave the town. The strong, imperious and intelligent griffin later ensures that the benevolence of the Minor Canon is rewarded |
