Summary |
"This cult classic was directed by José Mojica Marins, who also co-wrote the tale and stars as the lead character, Coffin Joe. Aided by his offsider, the hunchbacked servant Bruno, Coffin Joe kidnaps several women one of whom may prove to be the fulfilment of his quest for the perfect bride. But when they fail, Coffin Joe makes sure they are eliminated which ultimately seals his own fate as his actions bring a curse upon him that results in a bizarre (colour) descent into hell. This film is acclaimed by many as symbolic of Marins' style. (From Brazil, in Portuguese, English subtitles) (Horror) (1966) MA (V,S,H) B&W "--website |
