| Summary |
"Fred is a cavalier safe-blower whose plan goes pear-shaped after he steals some incriminating documents from the house of a wealthy businessman. On the run from the businessman's henchmen, Fred seeks refuge in the Paris Métro, where he meets the rag-tag bunch of renegades and musicians who inhabit this underworld of metal and steam. But when Heĺeńa - the businessman's wife whom Fred had been blackmailing-follows him down into the subway, the two find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other.
