Summary
"'Sydney photographed' weaves together a wide variety of images by 23 contemporary photographers around the theme of "Sydney". In contrast to photographs that are regularly used to identify Sydney in tourism brochures or in-flight magazines, they combine to present an image of Sydney as a diverse and complex city. Rather than seeking to promote Sydney or its way of life, or document strange people or places, most of these images emerge from the photographers' intimate knowledge of particular Sydney places, communities and histories." -- dust jacket
