This research examined the influence of muscle glycogen on insulin stimulated glucose uptake in humans. Whole body glucose uptake was not influenced by glycogen content 30 minutes or 24 hours after exercise, suggesting that the role of muscle glycogen in insulin stimulated glucose uptake may not be as important as previously theorised
