Summary |
This project describes current curricula and clinical education models, student recruitment and transition-to-employment strategies used in Australian undergraduate nursing education. The project has developed and implemented a framework to evaluate nursing curricula, teaching strategies, assessment practices and learning outcomes. The project team has consulted key stakeholders via three networks of experts, 21 national focus groups, four national graduate and employer surveys, five discussion papers, and have undertaken extensive document analysis of 26 current undergraduate nursing curricula. This has been done to identify key issues and gain critical feedback in relation to efficacy of current models and strategies, processes and outcomes and to locate innovative ideas from which contextually appropriate âbest practiceâ principles for Australian nursing curricula could be derived.
