Original photographs of Cottrell's ornithological trip around Australia, New Guinea, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, New Britain, Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, India, Thailand & Cambodia in 1964-5 and South Africa &Tanzania in 1958. Most shots are of birds, their habitats, flora and fauna, landscapes, the apparatus of bird watching and examining bird life, as well as the Cottrell's camp. Most of the photographs are annotated on the verso with the subject, location, date, and names of any people in the image.
