Pharmaceutical molecules may exist in two different, or chiral forms which are chemically identical and differ only in the orientation of some key atoms. Each form exists as a mirror image of the other. This thesis describes development of new technology for the preparation of single pure chiral pharmaceuticals. This research forms the basis of Australian participation in the international chiral pharmaceutical market, currently worth $200 billion per annum
