Summary
This 4 volume report describe a study of literacy and numeracy learning of students with disabilities enrolled in regualr primary schools. It discusses the provision of literacy and numeracy education for students with sensory, intellectual, physical, multiple and social-emotional disabilities in the systems and sectors of the states and territories of Australia. A literature review related to the different types of disabilities is presented. The report contains case studies of 10 schools in which distinctive and exemplary programs are provided for students with disabilities. Information on preservice teacher education and professional development to assist teachers to meet the literacy and numeracy needs of students with disabilities is included
