Summary |
"The aim of these Guidelines is to provide a comprehensive best practice framework to assess likely environmental impacts from the dumping at sea of dredged material. This includes provision of advice on assessment of sediment suitability for dumping, the selection of dump sites and development of appropriate monitoring programs. The Guidelines also provide an overview of the national and international regulatory frameworks that apply to dumping at sea. They illustrate how dredged material may be assessed through sampling, chemical testing and, where appropriate, toxicity and bioavailability testing to determine suitability for ocean disposal"--introduction |
