Summary |
Individual service delivery systems for children (e.g., health care, education, social service, mental health) are funded and designed to address isolated and crisis-oriented needs, rather than to promote healthy development for all children and families in a comprehensive fashion. An integrated service model provides for a more coherent, needs-based response to complex problems. In order to more closely assess the current array of services in regard to the psychological and mental health needs of children ages 0 through 10 years, the Board of Professional Affairs of the American Psychological Association (APA) established a Task Force on Comprehensive and Coordinated Psychological Services for Children (TFCCPSC) in 1994. This book grew out of the work of the TFCCPSC |
