"In his treatise Freedom of the will Jonathan Edwards addresses the human will and God's sovereignty. His thesis is that moral responsibility is not inconsistent with God's determining disposal of all events of every kind. He contends that while man is indeed free, God is still sovereign and still solely responsible for man's salvation. In the present book the author also seeks to reconcile foreknowledge of God with the liberty of will in humans and builds upon Edwards' treatise to do so".
