Summary Iain Stewart is a Scottish geologist who's presented a number of science shows for the BBC. You may have seen Rise of the Continents on the ABC a year ago, but he's also presented Earth: The Climate Wars, How Earth Made Us and How to Grow a Planet. He believes that scientists have a moral duty to effectively convey scientific evidence to the public. He's argues there's been a failure in science communication, looking at climate change as a specific example.Stewart himself is an excellent orator, but is correct in saying this is an area of weakness within the world of science. This is why a group of BBC Science journalists took a course with Hollywood screenwriter Robert McKee. They learnt how to tell (and sell) a story.Stewart delivers this inaugural Scientia address at the University of New South Wales
