"The work and ideas of Rudolf Laban (1879-1958), dancer, choreographer and seminal theoretician of movement and dance, have had a profound impact across an extraordinary range of disciplines. To mark the 50th Anniversary of his death, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance held an International Conference asking how and where Rudolf Laban's work is being practised today, how his ideas are being developed, and how relevant they are to the 21st Century. Conference presenters and delegates came from 26 countries to address these questions through papers, workshops, performances, films and lecture demonstrations amounting to around eighty presentations. Their work explored the legacy and current developments of Rudolf Laban's work around the world in subjects ranging from: choreography; movement analysis; choreology; the documentation of the performing arts; architecture; therapy and education to the training of the dancer, actor and musical conductor."--Publisher |
