| Summary |
The aim of this special volume is, as the title indicates, to point out the great power of electrochemistry and other physico-chemical methods (SEM, AFM, chemiluminescence, MOCVD, FT-IR, UV-VIS-NIR, X-Ray etc.) in obtaining and characterizing advanced materials. All of the contributions were peer-reviewed, and it is hoped that the work will serve as a tool for advancing future studies regarding the applied aspects of the synthesis and characterization, processing and application of advanced engineering materials. The 20 selected and peer-reviewed papers consider biomedical applications, and green products for pollution and corrosion reduction. Their topics include monitoring TiOin2 nanotube elaboration conditions in order to identify various characteristics of nanostructures, a new approach to evaluating surface properties of natural temporary teeth from highly polluted areas, spectral investigation into the degree of degradation in Romanian historical leather, the one-step potentiostatic electrodeposition of polypyrrole coatings on zinc coated steel surfaces, and the influence of various binders on the protective properties of paint coatings.
