Summary "The purpose of this edited volume was to bring together specialists from various fields to present all the information needed to understand and implement cementochronology, the analysis of cementum growth. This interdisciplinary "Cementum Research Program" was initiated in 2010/2011 at a Paris workshop with Jean-Pierre Bocquet-Appel, Joël Blondiaux, Thomas Colard, and me. Initially, the goal was to develop a standardized cementum protocol for age estimation in anthropology (Colard et al. 2015). However, the program's scope expanded rapidly into an initial poster symposium held at the 2012 annual meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropology (AAPA) in Knoxville (USA). With the invaluable support of Jane Buikstra, selected presentations were published in a special issue of the International Journal of paleopathology (Naji et al. 2016)."-- Provided by publisher
