Summary |
Special 3-disk edition of Terry Gilliam's dark tale of a daydreaming bureaucrat who becomes involved with an underground superhero and a beautiful mysterious woman and becomes the tragic victim of his own romantic illusions. Disk 1 features the "director's cut" of the movie as edited by Terry Gilliam. Disk 2 features a "production notebook" with interviews. storyboards, sets, theatrical trailers, and unused footage, as well as two documentary films about the movie; What is Brazil? (1985), produced and directed by Rob Hedden, which features interviews with director Gilliam, stars, writers, and technicians, intercut with documentary footage and actual scenes from the film ; and The battle of Brazil : a video history (1996), by Jack Mathews, which "reassembles the players in the famous struggle over Brazil's U.S. release." Disk 3 contains the "love conquers all" version of the film, with all of the changes that Gilliam refused to make |
