Summary |
Soviet nuclear submarine K-19 had a series of lethal accidents in the 1960s and 70s. In 1961, a leak occurred in the reactor cooling system and, in order to avoid an explosion, twelve men entered the reactor room and performed repairs that led to their death from radiation exposure. In 1972, a fire broke out near the torpedo room, killing 28 men. (From France, in French and Russian, English subtitles) (Documentary Series) CC |
