Summary This week Ruth is in Staffordshire at the Heath House. John Philip's family have lived on the estate since the 16th century, and the house has stood since 1840. John and wife Flavia took over the property on his mother's death, but now in their 70s they are finding the property, along with over 480 acres of land, a financial and physical drain. The Philips believe the only way out is to sell Heath House, but eldest son Ben is desperate to keep it in the family. Ruth tries to persuade the Philips to give Ben a chance to run the house commercially as a venue for weddings and as an up-market holiday home, but with his dad looking over his shoulder, can Ben really prove his worth and make his parents see that he can turn their fortunes around? After rejecting several unsatisfactory offers, John and Flavia agree that son Ben should be given a chance to prove that he can make the estate pay for itself. Ruth's advice is to resurrect their ailing weddings business, and to open up the house to paying holiday-makers looking for a unique experience.Ben partners with a company specialising in stately home experiences, and his exploratory event proves a success. Ben also starts to take bookings for weddings and corporate events. With Ruth's help, Ben eventually persuades his father to take the house off the market altogether and gives him until 2011 to turn the property into a going concern.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Country House Rescue is a Betty Production for Channel 4
