Summary Exit Through the Gift Shop is an incendiary true story of low-level criminality, companionship and incompetence. The program follows an eccentric shop-keeper turned amateur filmmaker, Thierry Guetta, whose apparent compulsion to videotape every moment of his life led him to document the phenomenon of contemporary street art. Thierry captures the world of graffiti art in thrilling detail, following many of the most infamous figures at work in the streets. As he captures many of them on camera, he becomes intrigued with renowned British stencil artist Banksy. His attempts to locate and befriend Banksy are finally successful Banksy is used to fiercely guarding his identity to avoid prosecution, however, he allows Thierry to film him at work. After capturing the real story of street art, Guetta sets out to make the epic documentary he has been promising everyone for so long. His thousands of hours of filming lead to his 90 minute film, Life Remote Control. After seeing the film, Banksy turns the camcorder back on its owner with wildly unexpected results.
