Summary This case study first introduces the reader to interpretative phenomenological analysis and then describes two studies using that method. These studies have adopted bold IPA designs: the first is longitudinal and the second involves multiple perspectives on the same phenomenon. Both examples are set within an applied health psychology framework and demonstrate how useful interpretative phenomenological analysis is to gather and make sense of experiential data that are useful in evaluation and development of health-care services
