Summary Journalist Martin Daubney is going on a very personal journey to discover the truth behind the headlines that warn of the horrific effects that modern online pornography may be having on children and young people. Martin's own son is four and when he was born Martin walked away from his job as editor of the lad's magazine, Loaded. In his previous life he was often accused of peddling porn. Today he needs to return to the murky subject of pornography to find out what effect it may be having on the vulnerable brains of kids. With a scarcity of real scientific data Porn on the Brain has collaborated with the University of Cambridge to scan the brains of young men who feel dependent on pornography to discover if their brains show the hallmarks of addiction. The program also commissioned a survey of teen porn habits from the University of East London. In Porn on the Brain Martin meets neuroscientists, addiction specialists and educators who are concerned about the effects of free and easy access to hardcore pornography in terms of the teenage brain. He also meets a teenager who feels addicted to porn. Along the way Martin discovers that an alarming number of teens and young adults feel that porn has hijacked their lives. Experts agree that the numbers are growing. In the end Martin discovers that porn is hijacking the brains of more and more young people and investigates what can be done now and in the future to protect children like his four year old son.
