Summary |
The personal reminiscences of the author of the things she wished that she had known before embarking on her tour of Egypt including on a steamer along the Nile River. She hopes that she can use the book to point out what people ought to notice, and "help them to understand why mosques and temples and tombs are as they are". It is based on the diary she wrote on her tour, and is "therefore full of personal reflections chronicled in the diary upon the gods of Egypt as they manifest themselves in their imperishable homes on the Nile." |
