Summary |
England, 1814. Several years before Anne Eliot was engaged to a young naval officer, Frederick Wentworth but she allowed herself to be persuaded by her trusted friend, Lady Russell, to break the engagement. Wentworth, now a rich and successful Captain, returns to find Anne's family on the brink of financial ruin and his own family tenants in her home. Their reunion gradually gives voice to long-buried emotions which will change their lives forever |
