This publication reports on a doctoral research work guided by the question: What is secondary school for its young people?, initiated in 2008 with financing from the scholarship program of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and defended in the Doctorate in Social Studies of Latin America (CEA, UNC) in 2015. Participation in successive research projects focused on the analysis of problems linked to conflict, normative order and youth sociability in secondary schools, financed by the Ministry of Science and Technical (SECyT) of the National University of Córdoba, served as the general framework of work from which we outlined our central concern.
