Summary |
This week, Insight presents a rare opportunity to see bikies, victims of bikie crime and senior police all in the one room, to discuss the recent spate of shootings across Australia. In a bid to bring back law and order, several states have introduced laws which criminalise membership of bikie groups. Furthermore, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has said that coordinating anti-bikie laws across the country is an urgent priority. However, some believe the new laws unfairly target innocent club members. With Insight host Jenny Brockie, the group has a frank and fair discussion about whether new laws will be effective and whether the police crackdown is justified. (An SBS Production) CC The discussion continues online at sbs.com.au/insight, and on Twitter #insightSBS and Facebook |
