*Coarse Language*Up and coming installation artists have come back to Sydney after two years on the international arts circuit and are revisiting Sean's parents' garage in suburban Sydney.What was once just leftover stuff, packed away in damp boxes while they travelled the world, will now become the centrepiece of their new work for the Art Gallery of New South Wales' annual sculpture exhibition - The Balnaves.Putting the stuff of ordinary life into art galleries is how Sean and Claire made their name in the contemporary art world. In their most famous work - the Cordial Home Project - Claire and Sean pulled down a whole house, remade it into a compact sculpture and placed it in the middle of a gallery. The dense mass of bricks, wood and building materials made audiences rethink the nature of house and home and the all-consuming dream of real estate.They've got just three weeks to design and build a glasshouse big enough to hold all their stuff, then to stack it. As the wrong wood and the wrong perspex are delivered and their construction technique fails, you wonder whether they're going to finish in time.This program is an intimate and frank portrait of an artistic collaboration under pressure. We watch as Sean and Claire debate and argue over every aspect of the design, construction and meaning of 'Self-Storage'. We see them at loggerheads and then we see them resolve their differences.
