*Coarse Language*John has forever wanted to go out with non-Jewish girls, but he always suspected that his mother wasn't into it. As John's mum, Gitla, died unexpectedly several years ago, it's impossible to know what she truly thought. Or is it?John does some digging around and discovers that the answer lies in Kabbalah - the mystical branch of Judaism. He calls upon his Jewish friends George and Jeremy and presses them to partake in a ritual that involves communing with the dead. Armed with shovels, the three friends set off for the cemetery at midnight. Six feet under, John receives the answer he wasn't looking for.Convinced that his mother wanted him to marry a Jewess, John is again thrown off-kilter, by his ex girlfriend Michelle who claims that John is mistaken. In fact, Michelle is convinced Gitla Safran was pro-interfaith marriage.Agitated, John decides to seek a second opinion from his mother. He discovers a Japanese agency that hires out actors who pretend to be family members to lonely people. John procures their services and totters off to Japan to meet his 'mother'. A bizarre and emotional reunion ensues.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Produced and developed by Princess Pictures in association with ABC TV.
