The two-part documentary series Dead Tired showcases the latest science from around the world that proves lack of sleep is slowly killing us. Shot in Australia, America, Canada and England this is the first series to feature footage of what happens to a person's mind and body during chronic sleep deprivation and the cutting edge science uncovering why most of us feel sleep deprived. Episode One - Awake is the New Sleep investigates how sleep deprivation causes sickness and death in today's society. The show profiles the science that proves that tiredness impairs performance, affects our mind and damages our body. It features a unique scientific experiment where we observe in real time what happens to a healthy 25-year old man when he cuts back his sleep from eight to three hours a night for one week.
