Summary Comedian Hannah Gadsby has been called many things, but never domestic. This 'domestically-challenged' winner of the Director's Choice Award at the 2010 Melbourne Comedy Festival steps outside of her comfort zone and into the kitchen to explore the work of contemporary artists who have been inspired by themes of domesticity.Intrigued by an exhibition at a local gallery called In The Kitchen Sink, Gadsby hunts down some local artists who are asking the big questions about women in relation to the kitchen and home through their artwork. She takes us to meet some of the art world's brightest stars who still have something to say about home and hearth and discovers that nothing is sacred in a world where domestic rituals and gender stereotypes come in for a roasting.Gadsby, who struggles to boil an egg but has a degree in art history, toils about the art scene while sharing some of her fondest domestic memories. A refreshing and humorous look at contemporary art, with a distinctly retro flavour.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Head of Arts and Entertainment: Amanda Duthie; Series Producer: Karen Leng; Director: Lou Turley
