Summary |
This week Kevin McCloud revisits a couple who converted an old violin factory into a luxury home, but a battle with their neighbours over a jointly-owned wall threatened to ruin the build.Building your own home can be a real struggle at the best of times. Louise and Milko Ostendorf spent 2 1/2 years converting an old building in Waterloo into a luxury penthouse, and ended up with a real battle on their hands. When Louise and Milko bought the building, they had no idea they would have on-going, heated negotiations with their neighbours, the London Festival Orchestra.During construction, fierce fighting broke out over a party wall. A year after Louise and Milko moved into their luxury retreat, the battle of Waterloo continued.Three and a half years on, Kevin revisits the site to see if the offending wall has to go or if it can stay.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Written and presented by Kevin McCloud |
