Summary |
The state of our public hospitals, June 2009 report provides a snapshot of public and private hospital activity in 2007-08. The 2009 report is based on data collected in 2007-08. This year, four feature chapters focus on important issues: Turning our public hospitals around provides a summary of the progress that is being made on the reform of our hospital system; Indigenous Australians in hospital highlights the differences between Indigenous and non- Indigenous Australians use of hospitals and highlights the need to pursue the priority of closing the life expectancy gap; Our maternity services provides information on obstetric services in Australian hospitals, an area that we are committed to improving; and Finally, the State and Territory public hospital performance reporting chapter details the States and Territories own hospital performance reporting on their websites |
