Summary This report sets out the results of a pilot study to determine whether relative utilisation rates of hysterectomy and related procedures perform well as an intervention specific indicator of health outcome and quality of care, and whether these interventions can be related to diagnosis and risk factors. The project was commissioned by the National Health Priorities and Quality Branch of the Commonwealth Dept. of Health and Aged Care
This study was part of an initiative in which the Commonwealth, in collaboration with the States, Territories and other key stakeholders in the health system, is developing national performance indicators of health outcomes and quality of care for the acute health sector
