Summary |
Set in the Spanish Civil War, a musician is left with nothing after he loses his wife and child to a Madrid bombing. Years later he is reunited with his old partner, a ventriloquist, and they decide to take a plucky young orphan under their wing. The three make up an unlikely vaudeville family of lost souls, struggling to get through one day at a time. Their only escape from the misery around them is their music and performance.
