Summary |
This book uses an innovative and fascinating approach for an in depth study of electrocyclic reactions. These reactions constitute an important class of pericyclic reactions. Mechanistic studies of these reactions are an important field of organic chemistry. Four different approaches, namely, orbital symmetry conservation, frontier orbital methods, Mobius Huckel and theoretical computational methods are used for the mechanistic investigations of the so called no mechanism reactions. Each chapter begins with the underlying physical concepts presented in a simplified and comprehensible manner and ends with the latest contemporary advances in the field. The most innovative aspect is the use of computer aided lessons for the conceptualization and visualization of these difficult concepts |
