New media has been finding its way into the latest crop of films responding to the recent uprisings in Northern Africa and the Middle East.Meet Ricky Maynard - best known for his intimate black and white portrayals of Indigenous Australians - whose latest exhibition Portrait of a Distant Land grew out of a previous show at the MCA in Sydney in 2005.
