| Summary |
This program provide nurses and other healthcare professionals with an understanding of the Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals for the long term care environment. The Joint Commission made no changes to its National Patient Safety Goals for 2015, continuing with the goals and requirements to meet those goals from the previous year. The following goals, and the elements of practice to meet these goals, are described in this program: Improve the accuracy of resident identification, Improve the safety of using medications, Reduce the risk of health care-associated infections, Reduce the risk of resident harm resulting from falls, Prevent healthcare-associated pressure ulcers. The program also describes a sample model of a resident safety plan that the Commission has suggested for every institution |
