Summary |
RPO Logistics was incorporated in 2005 and has since spread its wings into various elements of the logistics cycle. Within a relatively short period of time, RPO Logistics has extended its expertise into port transportation (2008), Banard shipping solutions (2011), SEZ consultancy and warehousing, customs cargo clearance, freight forwarding services, Shree shipping services (2015), and the Special Economic Zone situated on the western coast of Gujarat. This case discusses the consequences currently faced by RPO due to the company's lack of an employee orientation programme. The case follows Ms. Priya Sharma, who has just completed her MBA and joined RPO Logistics. Although she understands her role, she doesn't know how to perform her role, including whom to report to and whom to communicate with when she has questions. This case study will help students understand concepts such as employee orientation, organizational roles, the sink or swim approach, stages of socialization, and role orientation |
