Summary Neurological disorders can be extremely difficult to diagnose, perhaps more so than in any medical specialty. As a consequence, the trainee neurologist must invest a great deal of time and effort into learning the art of diagnosis. "Neurologic Examination" is the ideal text to use. "Neurologic Examination" is an illustrated guide to all aspects of the neurological exam. The book reemphasizes the usefulness of the exam in localizing lesions in the central and peripheral nervous system from which differential diagnoses are derived. The examination of the brachial plexus, cervical plexus, chronic regional pain patients is demonstrated which is not found in other manuals of neurological examination. The use of drifts, the arm roll and parietal copy are reintroduced to clinical neurology. Dr. Schwartzman is amply qualified for this task as he has developed an impressive reputation across the USA. The techniques described in this book have been grilled into 274 residents, 42 professors of neurology and five chairmen of neurology! Dr. Schwartzman was director of residency training programs at University of Texas (San Antonio), Thomas Jefferson and Drexel College of Medicine.; He has been Chairman of Neurology at three institutions and has won 15 teaching awards, and he has been an examiner for the American Board of Neurology. "The text is packed with gems of knowledge and the specialist registrar as well as experienced clinician would learn a lot from reading it. All areas of examination are covered."--John Winer
