Summary |
"A David v Goliath tale. When two penniless activists hauled fast-food giant McDonald's through the longest trial in English history, they were determined to defend their right to free speech and to criticise the company. What transpired was the biggest corporate PR disaster ever. In 1990, unemployed postman David Morris and barmaid Helen Steel were sued for libel by McDonald's after they handed out leaflets criticising the company. They refused to back down and be silenced and went to trial against the most expensive legal team in the country. Filmed over eleven years by award-winning director Franny Armstrong, this documentary shows the case in detail." -- website |
