| Summary |
Popular Danish crime series The Bridge continues on SBS in April with a brand new season. Season 2 sees world-weary Danish inspector Martin Rhode (Kim Bodnia) team up once again with young smart yet emotionally disconnected Swedish inspector Saga Noren (Sofia Helen) 13 months after the events of the first season.When a coastal tanker leaves the Oresund waterway and is headed straight for the Oresund Bridge, the Coast Guard board the ship and discover there is no crew, and three Swedish and two Danish youths are chained below deck. Saga is put in charge of the case and contacts Martin, who is still haunted by the death of his son. Soon it turns out the chained youths were just the beginning and that someone wants to direct attention to the changing climate and the use of the planet's resources and will stop at nothing to do it. It turns into a race against the clock to prevent a disaster where many lives are at stake.Laura, a key witness, wakes up at the hospital suffering from amnesia, but Saga believes she might have seen something as she was shot and wounded. The investigation grows, offering up some new leads. Meanwhile, four individuals wearing animal masks carry out a new attack, and then post a video online where they claim responsibility. Saga and Martin try to track down the new group, who are busy planning yet another attack. Saga has a hard time getting used to living together with her boyfriend, and feels she needs to be alone, so she decides to check into a hotel, a decision she'll come to regret. Meanwhile, Martin goes back to visit Jens in prison, and this time he exceeds his authority.
